There are currently no restrictions to foreign or local ownership of companies. Following the repeal of the Enterprise Promotion Act of 1989 in 1995, investors are now guided by the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission Decree (No. 17, 1995). Foreign Exchange Controls were also repealed in 1995 enabling the relatively free flow of foreign exchange.
