Thank you Mr. Dickson for this article. No, there is absolutely nothing to celebrate on the occasion of Nigeria's independence after 47yrs of roguery, mismagement, ineptiness, and callousness of our so call leaders/politicians or ex-millitary leaders in rubbers uniforms that has subjected the whole people of Nigeria into unforetold misery and abject poorverty. Iam sure that all these people whether politicians or military will see the anger of God desend on them and their families no matter where they may be hiding with their loots.

I once had a friend, Kehinde Awolusi. We worked together on a scheme in Ondo township in 1999-1991. If that friend is still the same Kehinde Awolusi whose comment I have just read, let me exclaim: Quite an age! If you are, then reach me through email: jaomotayo2(at)yahoo.co.uk

God bless Nigeria

YES Mr. Dele Adejobi (OYINBO (white people will tell you that no place like home) What our people don't realize is that if you became all this foreigh country citizen, you are still a foreigners. Even if you are born in their country, once they see your name they will be asking you were are you from originaly, talkness of you who became a citizen by naturilaization. It is time for US and OUR LEADERS TO WAKEUP AND BUILD OUR COUNTRY TOGETHER.

Everything in Nigeria is either God help us or Allah hears our prayer. We never own up to our failure to do the right thing. We train our children to be foreigners, local language is a taboo in many homes, governors sent their kids abroad for pre- school education. How are they going to grow up and love anything Nigeria. We have bastardise our value system , a thief governor is accusing Obasanjo for his problems and nobody is asking him about the loot he was caught with.
Today, i am not celebrating anything and i have not been celebrating it for the past twenty years because misery, ineptiness and roguery should not be celebrated.

I must say I enjoyed reading your article. Nigeria needs to up her speed.
Our so-called leaders need to help us achieve our aims, make good things for ourselves and make us proud to be Nigerians.
God help us!
