Atiku/Kalu Feud: What Kalu fails to tell Nigerians
Author: Anonymous | March 09, 2009
I have tried so much to stay out of the stalemate between the former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the immediate past governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu. My decision was borne out of the fact that theirs was an unnecessary dispute. Atiku was not supposed to join issues with a character like Kalu in the first place. But some revelations coming out of the two camps can not go unquestioned since Nigerians are always interested in knowing the truth.

As far as I am concerned, a respected elder who decides to engage with a madman in a street fight may have his attire torn on him. The madman doesn’t give a hoot what you do to him. He may even leave the place naked and still thinks that he wins the fight. More so, he is likely going to throw all cautions to the winds and will stop at nothing to call you names even if what he alludes doesn’t exist in the wildest imagination. It only takes a reasonable man to decipher between truth and falsehood.

First, we are confronted with an important issue which Kalu had not said anything about. That is the issue of corruption. He has accused Atiku of corruption and said Atiku is being tried in the United States for money laundering. I think it’s only Kalu that has the details of Atiku’s trial. All we know is that Congressman Jefferson is the one being investigated in a case of bribery scandal. It appears as if Orji Uzor Kalu does not know the difference between Atiku and Jefferson.

On the other hand, it is Kalu that is standing trial here at home. He has been a guest at the office of the EFCC. Atiku has not. Yet it is Atiku that is corrupt in the minds of people like Kalu. Instead of trying to rubbish people like Atiku, he should explain to Nigerians all the issues raised against him by EFCC. He was in government when resources of Abia State were being diverted to Slok Air, Hallmark, The Sun Newspapers etc. Is it right for a sitting Governor to be running a business empire at the detriment of the state?

In the Leadership edition of 3rd March, there is no name he didn’t call Atiku. He went further to say that Atiku can do anything to achieve his target. But Kalu has not told Nigerians the inappropriate relationship ‘Mother Excellency’ went into with the former Aso Rock ‘god’ for appeasement. We are never told that any of Atiku’s wives or daughters went into Obj’s bedroom for appeasement. Nigerians demand an explanation on this so that rumours can stop flying.

It should not surprise anyone that Orji Uzor Kalu is attacking Atiku right, left and centre. It is known fact that all the ex-Governors who have cases with the EFCC want to play Mr. Good by attacking whoever they perceive as enemy of the present government. The mere fact that Atiku pursued his case to the Supreme Court makes some people feel that he has fallen apart with the Yar’Adua family. This is far from the truth.

I think u are either foolish, ignorant or a paid agent. Atiku is a worse thief than Kalu. I think the only person comparing with Atiku is Babangida. Atiku started stealing from when he was in Customs. He should tell Nigeria the business he was doing that made him own a company like INTEL Services .

I am not holding forth for Kalu but your write up is so biased that it is unfortunate that it was even published at all. You have apparently sold your soul to Atiku. Elder my foot. With elders like you, no wonder Nigeria is where we are today.

I think your consience doesn't exists any longer. When two people are making trouble and you weren't there. If you come meeting them judging themsleves.

You should be a good listener before you pass judgement if not you will be fool in the whole issue. Atiku and Orji were all thieves, even Atiku is worse cos he has handle federal projects even in Nigerian Wharf, the house he built in USA and Abuja, how come he made such money. man you people are reaping where you did not sow, infant being a ''parasite''

Elder Moses, I must commend you for been such an out spoken person, but just want to bring to your notice, that you were one sided in that piece.

All Nigerians, even you and i know quit well that all our past and present political office holders are corrupt, so next time dont try to buy favour or side a man because he is your State's or tribe man.

But, you try though.

Finally Nigeria's salvation cometh!..a falling out among thieves. Our prayer.. may their disagreements never be resolved!
