Please may you grant me a space to air my view on some insinuations syndicated in some papers that there is a friction between the Atiku and Yar’adua families by some unscrupulous politicians. The last interview the former Vice-President,Atiku Abubakar granted Tell Magazine,No.22 June 1,2009, he made it clear that he would never be an ache to Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar,adua, the President.
Therefore,it has been puzzling where never-do-well politicians got the idea that there is a conflict between the two families that have been friends for more than two decades.
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar,Turaki Adamawa, the former number two citizen still pays homage to the mother of the President in Katsina when time avails its self.In that particular interview he said he calls the President to wish him well, when he hasn’t much on his hands. Besides politics there are business concerns that sowing of discord by unreasonable persons can create between these two families.
If Mr.President,Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar’adua wants Alhaji Atiku Abubakar wants to be re-absorbed into the Peoples’ Democratic Party,no amount of blackmail and falsehood can stop it. Therefore these politicians who are opportunistists and do not have future, which we know them cannot succeed with this divide and rule tactics.
By dropping smearing news items without source is primitive and more of cowardice. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is humble and very forgiving in his human relations, that is why he has network of friends amongst all the varying tribes of Nigeria.
Like someone wrote in one National Daily, this is Nation that needs everyone’s contributon. We must put our hands together and salvage the dismal political situation. Atiku Abubakar can be a contributor and he can contribute more effectively if he is in the PDP.
To this the reading discerning Nigerians should discountenance persons who are cowards, like going to the press but like hide under cover for ulterior motives or their brazen selfishness. Atiku Abubakar and Umaru Yar’adua have cordial warm relationships
