Andy Uba’s travails as warning signal
Author: Nuhu Shuaib | June 20, 2007
A long time ago, a highly respected cleric told me that our Creator does not laugh. That if He were to be a laughing God, there are only two things would prompt His laughter. One of such is that God will laugh when we i.e. His creatures toil to make possible what He has not sanctioned. He will also laugh when His creatures toil to prevent what He has decreed. The cleric likened the situation to the case of a madman who laboured to push Zuma rock off his way with his head.

It was God’s will that Peter Obi would be governor of Anambra State but former president Olusegun Obasanjo cum PDP laboured so much to prevent him. Even when respite come Obi’s way by way of court intervention, he was again shown the way out of Awka government house by impeachment. God would have laughed.

God did not sanction Andy Uba to be governor of Anambra State but Obasanjo sanctioned it. Professor Maurice Iwu perfected all the plots and edged out other contestants. They stole one meter and the Almighty gave them ten miles.

Not even the millions of our stolen money spent on adverts and those showered on traditional rulers could save Andy. God’s time came and Andy was swept out of Awka government house in a twinkle of an eye.

This is happening at a time when the high chief of Owu kingdom is out of Aso rock. Were he to be there, Bayo Ojo would have dusted his law books to find reasons to justify why the Apex Court ’s decision cannot be upheld.

Ehindero too would have been lecturing us today on some law courses as interpreted by Bayo Ojo. This is happening at a time when the present president, battling for legitimacy, would not want to be seen as interfering with the judicial process. God certainly has His own appointed time.

Again, this is happening at a time our Supreme Court can be regarded as the people’s court. We have a Supreme Court consisting of men of honour who will not trade their integrity for material gains.

After all is said and done, all elected officers who stole the peoples mandate in the last general elections must remember that they have a date with the Election Tribunals and/or Supreme Court. God’s will shall come to pass in no distant future.

What the Uba family (Andy & Christ) forgot is that every event that has a beginning will have an end. Their in-law is no longer in power. Period.
