The man have gone to deposit his ill gotten loot, with the full protection of the kaduna mafia aka Arewa consecutive group. I hope Dr. Goodluck will be very smart and get reed or curb the influence of those gangsters. I know some will say see what happened to Abacha when he tried he ended up a dead man? In any case if Dr. Goodluck is very transparent to the Nigerian people he should be fine.

Give me one good reason why Nigeria should continue to recycle tired and clueless individuals to lead the nation. In every civilized society your past record will determine your legacy. Not so In Nigeria where who you are and where you come from is the only qualification.

This guy was once the oil minister with no measurable achievement, yet he surfaced again to head the ministry. So tell me why he should care about lack of petroleum products for the poor souls that consitutes the majority of the population. To him, the Vice President is nobody, therefore, he can do whatever he wants.

The only face saving action left for the VP is to fire him as soon as he returns. He is not above the nation. No patrotic Northerner should come to his defense, which is what he is counting on.

Honestly you guys are clowns...who and who amongst you all is talking about sacking old recycled papa like our Petroleum Minister-Dr.Lukuman... remember he is from Katsina lets not forget same as our sick President...if Ibori from Delta State can be defended with all the bribed judges in our judicial system what makes you think the VP is safe should Yar Adua returns....

I cry daily for being a Nigerian is like Ghana has cast a spell on us they are progressing in everything we are dying ...GOD PLEASE GIVE US A JERRY RAWLINGS !!!....
Kunle Adewale    Houston,Texas, USA    December 27, 2009
My people, we dey always get worked up and sentimental too much !!! the people who rule Nigeria understand this about us too well, he information is a deliberate leak from someone who is plotting to replace Lukman, look, I am not for Lukman or any of these selfish and dying goats, but let us follow the advise of John from Nigeria , Quote "The solution to Nigeria problem is in the hands of the common man "ACTION AGAINST THE LOOTERS" in our immediate communities. Period!!!!!!!!!!!!! "

Until we do this , we will always be the way we are today tomorrow and forever, God has done his own part, we need to do ours.

And by the way, I did not say Rawlings, I mean we need to start from our immediate surroundings and progress to the local, state and eventually federal. This is the only way out.
The looters understand our sentiments so well, they use our sentiment to achieve their visions. it has never failed them.

The minister act is a total insualt to the orders and the policy of the presidency. The minister should be fired.

What do you expect? The Bible rightly said that in the days when Israel had no king, every one behaved as it pleased him. There is no leadership in Nigeria at the moment.

The president is bedridden and the vice president was not constitutionally empowered to act in the absence of the president. Anything he does now is simply a suggestion as a Nigerian and not as a VP

To me, any action of the Vice President in the absence of the president and without recourse to due process of being consstitutional empowered is simply a suggestion which any other Nigerian can render. A suggestion you know may be accepted or disregarded by the person it given.

Dr. Rilwan Lukman has been in the corridors of power much longer that both the president and Vice president. In terms of age, experience and exposure, he knows better that the two men (president and vice) put together. He understood perfectly that the VP's purpoted instruction was a mere suggestion coming from a powerless ordinary Nigerian. It lacked power and force.

Nothing will happen and I mean it. Watch, it, when he returns, he would have spent more of our hard earned currency on himself and won't care if we are burning or not. With his experience in the petroleum industry, if Dr. Luke man meant well for us, things wont be the way it is now.

So fellow Nigerians, it shouldnt bother you that he travelled, if he were to be around, nothing would have happened. At least we now have excuse that his absence may be termed the reason for the prolonged scarcity.

Larry you got it right ,the only reason he could do this is to secure is Loot, because if he is not there the money will be sent elsewhere...he his traveling with three other com padres.

So yeah! he really must go. Dont forget some people make Billions money when there is crisis
John    Lagos, Nigeria    December 26, 2009
I am surprise that anyone could be disappointed with Dr Lukeman's action knowing fully well that Nigeria is the only country in the world where mad people are termed as normal people, and normal people are termed as Mad people. By the UN characteristics of a failed state, Nigeria could virtually tick all the boxes.

The solution to Nigeria problem is in the hands of the common man "ACTION AGAINST THE LOOTERS" in our immediate communities. Period!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TEJIRI    Brooklyn, USA    December 25, 2009
This is a total disobedience and disregard for the office of the Vice President

This is ridiculous and it's another way to tell us that we need people with good intention to manage our ministries. These people are in government just because the put them their.

We have many young guys in Nigeria who know spent most of their life at the University, educated, and talented to manage our resources but the government will never put them in charge because they are not in politics or because they belong to another political party.

PDP are messing up big time but God will deal with them. God will push them out of governance. How could we explain that we are still facing gas/petrol problem in Nigeria. The minister of Petroleum must resign immediately; everybody in government whose ministry is moribund must leave government. Hey, we are tired of PDPPPPPPPPPPPPPP, let everybody shout and send them out.
