Two Kenyan university students have invented a charger, using partes from spoilt radios and spoilt televisions, that allows bicycle riders charge their mobile phones while riding their bicycles. It takes about one hour of pedalling to fully charge a phone.
It is reported that in the rural areas of Kenya, people travel long distances to shops where they are charged money to power their phone from a car battery or solar panel.
This "smart charger" is so small you can put it in your pocket with your phone while on your bike and should help people without electricity in rural areas.
