Switzerland beat Nigeria 1-0 in the Abuja National Stadium on Sunday to win the 2009 FIFA Under-17 World Cup and are now the first team to win the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in their first appearance.
Switzerland's Haris Seferovic, in the 63rd minute had a superb header from a corner and this beat Nigeria's Golden Eaglets goalkeeper, Dami Paul.
Switzerland's had earlier chances in the first half such as in the 11th minute when Janick Kamber went past the Goldent Eaglet's defense but was stopped by the Eaglet's goalkeeper.
In first half stoppage time, Nigeria had a great chance to move ahead when Emmanuel had a great chance but his shot went off target.
Soon after the Swiss goal, the Golden Eaglets fought hard for an equalizer. Substitute Yinka Otubanjo's had a header which hit the crossbar and Ramon Azeez had a long range shot.
