Women in Enugu, Nigeria hold prayer session to cleanse abomination of young men who rape old women
| October 18, 2011
Thousands of women in Enugu state, Nigeria held a prayer and fasting session to ask for repentance, cleansing and forgiveness of the abomination committed by some youths of Opi Nsukka, in Enugu state, when they raped old women. The event was organised by members of Umuada Igbo, a women's group that campaigns for reproductive health and rights of women.

The President of the group said that the Umuada Igbo group decided to mobilise its members in the five Igbo speaking states and hold the prayer session after women from Ogbozalla and Ibeku communities in Opi, Enugu state visited the Umuada Igbo offices to complain about young men in their community who have been raping old women. She said that at least 13 women had been raped recently and the rapists were typically young men between 17 years and 25 years old and about seven men are already in police custody in Enugu over the rape cases. She had also said, “It is an abomination. I can tell you that one of the rape victims is a blind woman. One has even died as a result of the disease she contracted from the incident."

At the prayer session, attendees prayed for the forgiveness of the abomination committed by the young men and for the people of the community to repent and turn to God. They also sang praises to God and asked God to bless the people of Opi as they repent from the abomination committed in their land.

Traditional rulers, church leaders, and presidents of some town unions in the affected communities also attended the event.

Ezeofor said that the group would mobilise its members in the seven Igbo speaking states to storm Opi on Saturday to say prayers over the land.

“It is an abomination. I can tell you that one of the rape victims is a blind woman. One has even died as a result of the disease she contracted from the incident,” she said.

“We are going to mobilise our members to say prayers in Opi on Saturday, October 15. This is an abomination and we will not keep quiet over it,” she added.

The president said the people of Opi needed the prayers to cleanse their land of the sin of raping innocent old women.

She said that seven young men were already in the custody of the police in Enugu in connection with the rape cases.

This is endtime signs. I wounder what those guys are into. I pray God will surely forgive them if, only they will repent and ask for Gods mercies or else. But, no sin will go unpunished believe me.

If prayers have not worked so far, maybe they need to turn to Dibia, Babalawo or Otumokpo. We need to go backto our roots. If these guys are strong, they should go rape a Babalawo's wife or daughter.

Sisters prayer in Enugu is the beginning of New Mother Grace New World in the end of 46 Billion Years of Government of Men as Sun. Arise all Sisters in Nigeria and in all Universe to take back your world stolen by men of terro, robbery, lying and rapist. Rape is a confirmation how men the serpent raped Mother grace in the beginning even before Adam which gave birth to water of darkness that covered the earth in the beginning before the coming of light of men 46 billion years ago. Enugu the seat of Sun shine arise and restored your glory stolen by Nigerians. You are Mary and Martha ministry of resurrection of Christ.

I have said this before and I will say it again - God is God, God is immortal, God is invincible, and Only God is omnipotent and omnipresent. We know he is watching us but we don't know how, where, or when He will act on us.

We know God is the Almighty Creator of all things and human beings. Nobody, even Adam and Eve the original parents, has ever seen God. We can only relate to him in a non-visual but spiritual way. So, let's leave God to do His own work, the way or manner we know nothing about.

And I don't know if there is hell or heaven anywhere. Nobody knows and nobody has ever come back to tell us how these places are. Ask any "ogbanje" and you won't even get an answer. So, leave what you don't know or your speculation to the Almighty God to handle that part.

While we should continue to interact with our God any which way we know or want, through prayers, dancing, somersaulting, hallucinating, masquerading, or whatever, let's get one thing straight - human acts, godly or ungodly, can only be dealt with and controlled with human laws and regulations.

These criminals who are going about raping these older women, should be arrested, tried, and jailed accordingly. They are sex offenders and a disgrace to society.

To me, it is after giving them the right punishment for their crimes while sitting in jail, that we can bring in a pastor or imam to them to preach to them and introduce them to Christ, Mohammed, or whatever.

That is why we should have good identification system that includes photo I.D., I.D. numbers or social security numbers like in the USA, fingerprint, etc, that can be used to permanently label these sex offenders.

As stated before, our foundational problem is bad government and effective implementation of rule of law. Every human being is a potential criminal and only human laws can be used to deter anyone, not prayers.

Let my people grow or let them go. We must implement rule of law adequatelt. We are tired of this moral societal decadence. This is not brain surgery or rocket science. It is easy to do.
