More federal universities shall be built in more states in Nigeria - President Jonathan
| November 07, 2011
At a reception for recent Federal Government appointees from Ebonyi State, President Goodluck Jonathan reitereated his commitment to creating more Federal universities in Nigeria. President Jonathan, who was represented by Dr. Bello Mohammed, the Minister of Defence, said“The siting of a new federal university in Ebonyi is deliberate. As a far-reaching measure to bring tertiary education closer to the people, the Federal Executive Council took the bold decision to create more new federal universities and Ebonyi happens to be one of the new states that were up and coming as considered so that more federal presence shall be registered in our young state."

"This is without prejudice to the fact that the policy is a continuous one and more federal universities shall be sited in more states subsequently."

Also speaking at the occassion, Governor Martin Elechi, assured President Jonathan that federal appointees, senators and members of the house of representatives from Ebonyi state would always support him on issues that promote the development of Nigeria and Nigerians.
