Ten Christians killed in an attack on a village in Borno state.
| December 02, 2012
About ten Christians were killed in a village called Chibok, in Borno state, when some unknown people attacked the village in the middle of the night, burnt down houses and attacked the Christians with guns and machetes. The Islamist group Boko Haram is believed to be behind the attack. Local officials said, "The attackers came in around 9:00 pm shouting 'Allahu Akbar', which made us suspect they are Boko Haram. They moved into selected homes in the Christian part of the town and killed ten people then set houses in the area on fire. Who else apart from Boko Haram members will go into houses and cut the throats of people?" A spokesperson for the Nigeria Police said the police was aware of the incident but still trying to confirm the number of casualties. Also in Gamboru Ngala, about one hour's drive from Maiduguri, Borno state, some churches and security posts were attacked and at least two policemen are suspected to have been killed. Sources said that about 50 gunmen in cars and on motorcycles attacked three churches and some security posts near the border with Cameroun. Immigration, customs and police station were attacked. Some residents reported seeing bodies of policemen on the streets. Since 2009, Boko Haram, which wants to impose its own version of Islam in northern Nigeria, has been responsible for the death of hundreds of people and attacks on government offices, schools, churches and sometimes mosques.

If at this time of development some people still have the believe that the only way to appease their god and propagate their religion is through violence. It is madness and wickedness which they reap what they have sowed one day.
