What is love? No one really has a clear definition of what love is; Most people go ` love is a feeling of ...' or `love is when ..." I guess there's no real definition as to what love really is.
Spiritually, I'll say Love is a gift to all to help us learn to be like HIM (GOD) because GOD is LOVE and so to have love in you is to have GOD in you.
Now not the sexual love but the pure selfless love that thinks mainly happiness of the beloved. Not allowing the loved to indulge in whatever he wishes but trying to make sure he's given whatever he heeds to grow. I believe that if we can truly love then we will have achieved a high goal spiritually.
Think about it. How many people can still love a person who has hurt them badly, who's lied to them, cheated on them or disrespected them? How many people even want to help such people? Wouldn't we all want to lash out at them and write them off our books for life?
But look at the Almighty (if I may say) we hurt HIM almost every minute of our lives. We stab him in the back every time we fall into temptation because He never allows a temptation he doesn't believe we can overcome. I mean we even Killed HIS SON. Shortened HIS mission on earth yet he still blesses us, let's the sun shine on us, let's rain fall on us, and answers our prayers.
HE still LOVES us.
Although we know nothing compares when it comes to us and Him, if we could love irrespective of being wronged, we will have proven that we have GOD in us.
