Goalie Mentalo was truly gifted.
Some called him reflex action while his Yoruba fans called him Rara.
He could change direction in mid air with much grace. His one weakness was that the cheering of crowds went straight to his Medulla Oblongata.
One day while driving in his Rolls Royce he came across a burning Sky scrapper and parked.
A child was perched on the edge of a balcony just inches from roaring flames. The mother was going crazy with worry. The fire brigade could not convince the child to jump from the eighth floor.
Goalie Mentalo removed Agbada, wore his gloves and moved everyone clear.
"Jump" he shouted and the child jumped. Inches from his hands a mighty gust of wind took the kid to the left. Goalie swerved in mid air and saved the child.
The crowd went wild with cheering.
Goalie just threw the smiling kid up, caught him, ran, bounced it twice on the grass before kicking it up field!
