Most of us, have at one time or the other, been betrayed or at least have felt betrayed; and as we know, it's one of the worst feelings one can get.
The pain and hurt we feel runs deep and there after, we question our trust in almost every other person we ever come in contact with.
The feeling of betrayal is the beginning of world distrust. We start feeling like we're alone in this world, that every other person is out to deceive us. We even start becoming paraniod sometimes, picking on every single word or action towards us and even distrusting the geniune goodness others show to us.
The hurt is hard to bear and most of the time it brings us down and even turns us into very cold people. But it only brings us down because we allow it.
We become cold and distrusting because we refuse to deal with it, we refuse to ask ourselves why it happened because, it may have our fault after all.
You see, if we actually take time to get to know everyone we meet or anyone we wish to have further dealings with, if we opened our eyes to see them for who
they really are, no matter how we feel, and accept them and trust them according to how they are and not hope that for our sakes it'll be different, we'll feel less hurt if they eventually spring up surprises.
This may be just why non of your relationships lasts.
For example if you had a boyfriend or girlfriend who lies a lot, instead of thinking because you're close she'll not lie to you, accept that he/she lies and that there's a very high possibility of him/her lying to you.
You could still be close to them but scrutinize what they says well before accepting it. That way, when you find out he/she's lied to you it won't hurt you because you 've known from the begining the possibilty existed.
So instead of turning against the world, we really should get to know the world and accept the world as it is.
You know, you only get accidents on a road when you either don't know the road, the car or because you refused to follow the necessary precautions for safe driving. So, in order not to get hurt or let the hurt we feel turn us against the world, we should, not distrust but know before trusting.
