Procrastination

Image:Clock I really wonder why we procrastinate?, why we delay things till the very last minute?

We all do it, in fact in Nigeria it's a specialised trait. But, come to think of it, why do people always leave things till the last minute? Why can't things be taken seriously and attended to properly from the beginning so as to avoid bigger problems.

We always like to fix things instead of maintaining them and in the process, sometimes lose certain things.

Like when in a relationship, we always wait till the very worst has happened before we try to change. We normally see that things may go wrong but think we would still be given another chance.

We may really get another chance sometimes but what we don't realise is that eventually we will run out of chances and then we would have to start looking for ways to fix our problems without realising that we caused them ourselves.

Image:Stop Watch If only we hadn't overlooked certain things.

Most times we keep drinking from a drum of water without realizing that one day it would finish and we will need to refill it or rather believing that some day we would refill it, when there is time but it would eventually finish; finish earlier than it was supposed to so when we do need it, really need it, we wouldn't be able to have it and we encounter problems.

When eventually we run out of chances we lose what good thing we had simply because we refused to act when the time was ripe.

It never pays to delay things, never, so why do it?

We spend so much effort trying to fix it when we could have spent much less time, energy and money maintaining it.
