We have always been told that we should give in order to receive and that generosity is one of the best virtues in life but how many of us truly give.
I doubt if there is actually anyone of us who hasn't given before, no. I'm sure all of us has given at one time or the other. Fact is though, only a few of us have actually ever truly given.
To truly give is not to give out of our excess. It is more about giving out of yourself. Giving out of yourself is exactly what it means, giving out of yourself.
You see, your excess is what is outside you. Now think about it, if you have a cloth you want to sew, your measurement is taken and the cloth is sewn according to your measurement. Whatever remains is the excess and not part of your cloth. So you can see that your excess is what is outside you.
But we've been told that to truly give is to give out of within you and very few of us do that.
We give only if we have excess and that's why we hardly get back what we've given out. It's always very hard for us to part with things that are just enough for us.
But if we do give out of ourselves, if we give out of the little we have, we would be amazed at the results, and the blessings we will recieve.
Remember, it's only when you open your hands that something can enter in!
