Good day,
I am Oyindamola Osonowo, a 17-yr old girl.
There is nothing unusual about me besides the fact that I recently put together a website along with two other international partners.
The beauty of it is that we are from three different continents and have neither seen nor spoken to each other before.
We are all of different ages and sexes, and we managed to put together what probably is the most interactive source of information on Vincent van Gogh on the internet; with over 600 pages, images, sound clips, MP3s, videos and FLASH animations, games and puzzles.
We created the site as an entry in the Thinkquest Global Internet Challenge and to the glory of God we are at the finals, a position hitherto unattained by a Nigerian in the history of the competition.
If we win, we each get scholarships to fund our university educations.
Right now, the only thing to keep us from winning is the number of visitors to our site. So far we've had about 3 million visitors since we uploaded the site on August 15, 2000.
However we are still very far from our target of 7 million hits. Which is why I want to use this medium to appeal to you to use whatever resources are available to you to assist us in disseminating information about our site and forwarding our link to as many people as possible, both at home and abroad.
While putting the site together was a feat, I am willing to assist other young Nigerians like myself in repeating this in next years competition.
