Lord! d'you know that in Africa
Our leaders assume rank with you?

Lord! d'you know that in Uganda,
Your Cathederal is now an apocalyptic dungeon?

Lord! d'you know that in Nigeria,
Your Holy See extension and your Holy Writ were
consumed in a nuclear conflagration in a holy war?

Lord! d'you know that in Sierra Leone, Rwanda, Burundi and Algeria,
Refuge seekers in the church were slaughtered with a
joyous epiphany mingled with a macabre of delight on the pew?

Now Lord tell me
Is this the debut of the nuclear Armaggedon?
D'you want me to backslide or back out from your temple?
