If I could see the world through you,
I would see roses without thorns,
With every bloom glowing in the sun.
The heavens studded with stars,
Like the African night sky.
The waters as blue as sapphire,
Yet as pure as crystal.
The beauty of every creature,
And the wonderful works of nature.
A future of blissful years,
And a tomorrow without fears.
If I could hear the world through you,
I would hear songs of the nightingale,
And the melodies under a bridal veil.
The thunderous drumming of hail,
And the senseless chatter of rain.
The banter of robins,
And the cacophonies of dolphins.
The shouts of seraphim,
Yet deaf to the cries of mortal beings.
The laughter of good health,
And not the silence of death.
If I look closely I would see your celestial wings,
If I listen carefully I would hear you mum angelic hymns;
If God's favourite angels were a hundred,
One, by my side, just landed.
