    The Resurrection

Submitted By: John "The Beloved" Ajewole

The Son of God was crucified on Calvary,
wrapped in 'clean linen', in a tomb He was laid.
So many people wept and watched afar of
as the soldiers sealed His grave with a stone.
They thought it couldn't be rolled away.

'On the first day of the week', in the early morn,
just at the rising of the Sun,
the women arose to go to His grave
    taking with them 'sweet spices'
and wondering who would roll the stone away.

They had been watching the tomb,
    some 'sons of Belial'.
They wanted to make sure He would not rise,
    but when 'Gods Angel descended',
    they became as dead men,
for 'His countenance was as lighting,
    his garments, white as snow,
He came and rolled the stone away.

"He is risen, He is not here",
the Angel said, showing the women where He had lain,
the empty grave and the grave clothes,
The Son of God was not there,
for the stone had been rolled away.

He arose, the grave couldn't hold Him.
death has no power over The Divine,
the plan of Salvation, totally completed.
Jesus arose, He gave us victory
Today, that stone is till rolled away.

    JESUS IS THE EASTER MESSAGE
