    Slumber

Submitted By: John "The Beloved" Ajewole

    Sleep, sleep, sleep,
Longing to close those tired eyes,
    Under a warm cozy blanket,
And a blowing fan on third speed.
Mindless of the thief breaking in,
    Buried in deed deep meditation,
Enveloped in a loss of mind and will,
    Remembering nothing but everything.
    Turning from side to side,
    Who cares who is looking,
    More sleep is never enough,
    Those eyes can't but close.
    Snoring noisily, helplessly and lazily,
    Loathing every form of interference,
Until those eyes are tired of sleeping,
    Then memory begins to return.
Bringing back all the joys and sorrows,
Those who hurt and those already hurt,
Everything that needs to be done today,
Roaming thru a world of strangers.
A wide yawn with spread out arms,
Why is it so soon morning?,
Wishing it would be dark some more,
    Just for one more our.
No one ever gets enough of sleep.
