    Toil

Submitted By: John "The Beloved" Ajewole

    Whoso to fame dost aspire,
Must not sleep at night by his campfire.
He who would scale the utmost heights,
Would not be in a costly attire.
For he must tame his delights,
Else he won't see the coming daylights.
Let him work with his hands and not his mind,
For thoughts are in the head forever confined,
Let him learn to sing a solo and not a duet.
In the course of life, no, victory is not combined.
Beware, lest to others you come in debt,
For we all are our own best asset.

The man who will carry mountains,
Must not abide by water fountains.
Let him begin by carrying small stones.
For through that, comes strength to his backbones,
Then let him climb the mountain to see lowlands,
For then only can he see all the borderlands,
Let him not fear the mountain to descend,
For all that arises must have a downtrend,
No gem is made perfect without friction,
So let him not fear lest he garner many an abrasion,
And he who seeketh fame without toil and strife,
The impossible, seeketh and wasteth life.
