What a long way, time and queue it takes
in getting to the seat of power.
What must I do to streamline the long queue to my side?
Or do I take a shortcut to achieve this power?
Do my supporters know my right from wrong or wrong from right,
between my mind and manifestoes to the people?
Although, they’ll come out to vote,
sweating and feeling weary under the sun,
am I sure they’ll cast their vote on behalf of my candidacy?
Or should I dole out naira and rig my way into power?.
What supposing I am appointed, selected or elected,
must I mislead, mismanage or
misuse the power vested on me?
I’ll take time to quench the flames in my mind
in order to fully understand what power is.
