Some mothers were out
All night partying
But you stayed behind
And watched me go to sleep.
Some mothers spent money only
On clothes and jewelries in vogue
But you bought me toys and snacks
When coming back from work.
Some mothers dropped their children
At school and turn their backs
But you followed and buttressed
My academic performance all through.
You were there when I was sick.
You were there when I was weak
You spanked me when I was wrong
Yet, you were there to keep me strong
