What if man had not to work for his daily bread?
What if woman had not to labour to bring forth child?
What if Eve had played deaf to the evil serpent?
What if Adam had been man enough to say 'no!'?

What would your life, my life have been like,
If events had not occurred the way they did?
Who knows where you and I would have been,
If history had been written the other way round?

Imagination; great exercise for the human mind.
But in this case a rather pointless exercise.
For the annals of history can ne'er be altered.
Therefore lose little sleep o'er 'what could have been'.
Save all your energy for what the morrow will bring.
