Be My Comfort
Submitted By: Olumide Adeoso
Kemi, be my comfort
Whisper unto me words of comfort.
Let comfort guide my tongue
And bid me speak of nothing but love.
In solemn silence my words hang in the airless air
With you here I shall utter that which must be heard
That which I can't tell I can't share
Rise and let me contemplate thy beauty here.
Your eyes cool, fluid and compassionate
Your smile strong, disarming and passionate
Gold flecks in your sea-green eyes
Mesmeric incantation carry your smile
The sparkle in your eye, the smile you have
Both reminds me of how beautiful you are
You speak best when you just smile
And make diamonds glitter in your eye.
When our eyes meet
My heart skips its beat
When you render your beatific smile
My heart glows and my face shines
Speechless you make me when i see you
Even when I keep mute
My eyes tell for real
That which my mouth wishes to speak.
O call back yesterday, bid time return
'Twill be terrible sin to see your beauty and not turn
Each day nature adds a touch to your beauty
I see you as an angel of love and purity
My life on earth will be memorable and sweet
If I voice that which I feel but couldn't speak
Can I find a fairer friend
Who will cause my feelings to ascend.
Words fail to portray all the virtues you convey
Yet that which I see I say
Desert me not at this time
Let me be yours and you be mine
E'en if the earth shifts i shall stay
I can't walk away from you in anyway
I'll love you till eternity
My heart this covenant makes, my hand thus seals it.
