I dunk my words in ink that nature gave
O beloved, thou art fearfully and wonderfully made
That wheel that shaped thee is rare
Thy potter with mastery did paint beauty in thy ware
Thou art heaven's token to human kind
That bid the earth's seek for a fairer mortal a no find
Tho distance grant our faces no meet
Yet with joy my heart greets
Tho we be seven seas apart
With thee neighbour my heart
Such gain for me to have thou
A true blood that makes me proud.
Do register my love so ope and ethereal
That I share solely with none 'cept thee
Tho distance grant not I to exhibit my care
Tho I fail to represent my presence in flesh
Yet in spirit I stand near
Nearer to thee than the hair that clothe thy flesh.
With sacred tongue I pronounce thee blessed
And that which I fail say my fingers tell
That the new life which you happily share
With the one heaven chose for thee my dear
Should no mortal think to subtract nor divide
But bless till futurity to last and 'bide.
I breathe into this words of mine
Unto this piece upon which I sign
Tho high and low to endless night lie
Yet words spoken in truth never die
I give my words an undying presence
And it'll minister to thee in hour of solemn silence.
