Hunger is etched
on the minds of everybody
and poverty stalks the land
while desperation plagues the soul
as children's laughter
battle the uncertain future.

These are days
where the sun reflects
the atrocities of humanity
on nature
and on humanity
for love is lost
and hatred universal.
