The second, who was being looked at lustfully tried to avert her mind, but to avert one's mind from something, one must know what one is averting it from--and if she did know what she was averting it from, she was guilty. All three slipped and broke their necks. They were buried in the graveyard of the failed ones without honor.
Mankind was getting worried and security was tightened around the remaining eight. As many as possible would make it to God. There were only three years more. They had never gotten this far into the years of solitude with these many still alive. Each child was now kept away from human contact, in a small dark room. Food was passed through a hole and there was a toilet in the corner of the room. Mankind was not taking any chances.
In the fifth year of solitude came the big bang. Six of the remaining eight apparently had discovered what it was that their mission was in life. It was a sad day for mankind, for somehow they had been misled. They had rushed and tried too hard to discover what it was and so when the first three simultaneously discovered what their duty in life was, the strain had been too much, and them being kept in adjacent cells, the energy exploded and killed three of them.
The remaining three seemed to discover that their mission in life was to save mankind but they misinterpreted this to mean that they had to be amongst mankind to save it. They all were eaten by crocodiles as they tried to escape in order to get to mankind. It was indeed a sad year for mankind.
Lisa woke up in extreme darkness. Someone was coming for her. She had never been disturbed in her twenty minutes of sleep before. She started to scream loud. She heard commotion outside her door and after a while there were a lot of footsteps and yet more commotion. Eventually it stopped, but she didn't notice because she couldn't think about it. "It's alright now Lisa. It's alright" a nun said, weary of voice and apparently tired from a struggle. But Lisa could not hear. She was not listening. The world government decided that it was not safe to keep the two remaining girls in the same facility and so one night, Lisa was transported to a monastery in the hills. No one would come close to killing her again.
It was the seventh year of solitude and security around Lisa and the remaining girl was at it's peak. Lisa prayed even more fervently and she had manufactured within her the ability not to be able to think. But one thing was still undone. Despite all her psychic abilities she was not able to find out what her mission on earth was. Time passed by, and it now was only five days from the time.
There was a lot of tension in the air. No one would press her. It was too risky. But she had to figure it out in just five days. The world waited and watched the two girls, day in and day out. This was mankind's last hope. On the eve of the final night, something really strange happened. Lisa, during her twenty minutes of sleep had smelled some manner of substance. She woke up very disturbed.
The other girl did the same, and within seconds she was trying to figure out what it was she smelled. This was a big mistake for once she was able to identify the smell, the castle caved in and she, along with a thousand soldiers, two hundred nuns, and fifty priests where killed instantly. If only she was psychic like Lisa, she would have known not to try and identify the smell.
It was now an hour before the time and the world had stopped. Even watches stopped ticking for this could very well be the last hour of life. Every one prayed with a passion, even those who would not have found it in their hearts to do this. Lisa became shaky and confused.
