Lucas, a poor man in recent Nigeria, married with five children and struggling to provide for his family, faces his life with shame and broken promises as his wealthy nephew Chris refuses to help him financially. The same nephew that Lucas had sold his business to bail out of trouble with the law when said nephew was a young man.
Lucas finally drops dead and Chris, his nephew, proceeds to make funeral arrangements fit for a King, leaving everyone wondering why he didn't do more to help the poor man when he still had breath and life.
Of course, the first conclusion is that Chris's wife was the evil barricade between Uncle and Nephew.
The movie shows some of the ways that Nigerians today have commercialized burials: for good or bad, who's to say. It's no longer as simple as buying a plainly carved wooden casket. It is another big event to show-off the millions of the family.
This movie shows this new phenomenon, and the ridiculous extent to which people will go to give a "befitting" burial.
